From 10 to 19 January 2020, Innsbruck is hosting the Winter World Masters Games, the world’s biggest winter sports festival for 30+ year olds. More than 3,000 athletes are in attendance at Tyrol this month to take part in this major international tournament and two of Billingham Forum’s adult skaters are amongst the competitors hoping to take home gold!

Michelle Jones and Elaine McCormick are students of Ice Coach Alison Laws and members of Billingham Ice Skating Club. Both ladies are competing against competitive figure skaters from around the world, each aiming to do their best and hopefully bring home something to show for it.

Michelle just missed out on a medal yesterday, coming 4th in the Silver Ladies II Artistic category. She narrowly missed the podium but will get another chance at the free skating event on Saturday 18th January.

Elaine is skating today in the Silver Ladies III Artistic and again in the free skating event on Saturday 18th January.

We want to wish both ladies the best of luck. Getting to participate in a huge event like this is an achievement in itself and we couldn’t be prouder of them!
