Amazing results for Team Ali’s figure skaters representing Billingham Forum at the British Adults Nationals in Sheffield on 27th & 28th April. Elaine McCormick, Michelle Jones and Liane Hemsley brought back 5 Gold Medals and 1 Bronze medal between them!

Michelle Jones – 1st Overall in Silver Ladies Free (all ages)  & 1st in Class II age category in Silver Ladies Free

Elaine McCormick – 1st in Class III age category in Silver Ladies Free & 3rd in Class III age category in Silver & Above Artistic

Liane Hemsley – 1st Overall in Open Pre-Bronze Free (all ages) & 1st in Young Adults age category in Open Pre-Bronze

In the free skating sections:

Michelle had an amazing free skate finishing 1st overall and 1st in her age category in Silver Ladies Free and scored 34.56. She achieved a Level 2 Sitspin and a Level 1 Change Foot Combination Spin and also landed a clean Axel. She won overall out of 23 competitors (from age 21 up so pretty special for a 45 year old!)

Elaine also did exceptionally well in the same event scoring 30.07. She finished in overall 7th place and 1st in her age category (also placing above many much younger competitors). Elaine also competed in Silver & Above Artistic (silver, gold and masters levels) and won an impressive 3rd in her age category.

Liane had a fantastic skate in Open Pre-Bronze and scored 24.61. She had a lovely clean skate and cam 1st overall and first in her age category.

Elaine and Michelle have also  just competed at the Oberstdorf Adults International in Germany on 20th – 24th May. Elaine came 3rd in Silver Ladies Free class III with a score of 39.65. Michelle came 3rd in Silver Ladies Free class III with a score of 41.03.
