Posted on 13th September 2019

A young figure skating is having a great start to her sporting career as she returned home after winning a bronze medal at the Young Stars British Skating Competition staged in Sheffield. Faith Freeman is a member of Billingham Ice Skating Club and Tees Active Sports Academy and at only 9 years of age she is a member of the British Young Stars Development Team which is a testament to her talent and hard work as she trains between 18-22 hours per week which consists of on and off ice work.

Faith performed to puppet on a string which enabled her to achieve a score which will take her to the next level of competition. Proud mother Emma said, “We are pleased with Faiths performance as she has had a small break from training during the holidays, but she is now working hard on her new programme which will be performed to “Nutcracker” which will be a longer programme and she is now receiving choreography lessons as she starts to put her programme together.”

Faith who is coached by Cathryn McCabe at Billingham Forum Ice Arena will be busy over the next few months as she prepares for another Young British Stars Competition and she has 6 roles in the Billingham Ice Skating Clubs Christmas panto production of Wizard of Oz and rehearsals are now underway.
